JESSE EISENBERG to join DC's SUICIDE SQUAD?

We already know Jesse Eisenberg is playing Lex Luthor in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, but Warner Bros. is hoping the Oscar-nominated star of The Social Network will reprise his role in the upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD movie.

SUICIDE SQUAD is a team of locked up DC supervillains who act as secret assets for the government, undertaking high-risk missions in exchange for shorter prison sentences.

“I can say that it’s a ‘Dirty Dozen’ with supervillains”
– David Ayer

The most recent incarnation of the Suicide Squad includes Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Black Manta, and Deathstroke.

The group operates under Dr. Amanda Waller. Waller is one of the major antagonists of the DC Universe but she sometimes helps a superhero out. She served as secretary of Metahuman Affairs under Lex Luthor when he was president of the United States.

Rumors have it Will Smith, Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street), and Tom Hardy are close to signing on. David Ayer (Training Day, End of Watch, Fury) is set to direct.

"Stay sharp! Will Smith is trying to ruin our movie!"

This definitely looks more promising than SINISTER SIX - a regrettable offshoot of the already stale AMAZING SPIDERMAN franchise, featuring a team of villains. But if Will Smith is eyeing a role, this one could be destined to fail, too.

SUICIDE SQUAD will debut in 2016.
