JARED LETO the next JOKER?

Yes, Jared Leto could be the next Joker. The Oscar winner is in talks to play the iconic super villain in DC’s SUICIDE SQUAD movie. 

My first reaction was, “Ugh, Jared Leto? I don’t like him.”

But you know what? That was exactly what I said when I heard Heath Ledger would be the Joker in THE DARK KNIGHT.

 

I didn’t think much of Ledger in 2008. I thought he was just a pretty boy who was going to ruin one of, if not the greatest comic book villains of all time. Boy, was I wrong.

 

Ledger blew me away. He made one of the scariest comic book characters even scarier. That’s quite an accomplishment, especially when you consider how good Jack Nicholson and Mark Hammill’s performances were.
 

The same argument could be made about Leto. Is he pretty? He’s the prettiest! And 30 Seconds to Mars is probably the most epic vanity project an actor has ever conceived.

 

But the fact is Leto has a long list of movies behind him and some of them, like Fight Club and American Psycho, are favorites of mine. And his last movie, Dallas Buyers Club, won him an Oscar.

 

Speaking of which, Leto was almost unrecognizable in his role as an AIDS patient, (and neither was Ledger as the JOKER) so we might not even feel like we’re seeing Leto on the screen – and that's kind of the point, right?

I’m choosing to be optimistic about this one. But I want to know what you think. Comm – Ahhh you guys never comment!
